More Than Hotels

Posted on October 9th, 2016 in Adventure by Chris

Sometimes your hotel stay needs to be more than a great bed and continental breakfast. We’ve partnered with some amazing establishments that go above and beyond the typical hotel experience to make your vacation truly memorable. Our recommendations below have something for all different types of travelers, adventurers and leisure seekers.

Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort – If you’re looking for a break from the non-stop party that is the Las Vegas strip, look no further than Henderson, Nevada. The second largest city in the state is about a half hour drive from the strip and is home to the Westin Lake Resort. The resort holds world-class Moroccan-inspired Spa Moulay. Visitors can choose from a variety of massage techniques, along with other options like facials, manicures and pedicures. If you’re looking for something a little more active, you should check out the Reflection Bay Golf Course. Having just undergone a complete restoration last November, Reflection Bay gives players a stunning view of the lake and has been named a Top 100 course by both Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.

Salamander Resort & Spa – The Salamander can be found in Middleburg, Virginia, about an hour west of Washington, DC. This resort is well worth the drive from the city because it provides guests with relaxation along with incredible amenities and experiences. The Middleburg region is home to over 400 equestrian events, including polo, horse shows and the internationally recognized Gold Cup. You can spend the day checking out one of the many events, or you can choose to ride the countryside roads or hop in a carriage. Once you’ve exhausted your energy with the horses, you can relax at the Salamander Spa. The resort boasts a 23,000 square foot spa and wellness center that includes indoor and outdoor pools, a full fitness facility, a salon and a couples’ spa suite. They also offer top of the line spa packages that can be tailored to any taste.

Hawks Cay Resort – The Florida Keys are one of the top vacation destinations in the country and for good reason. There are tons of incredible sights, beaches and unique culture, but nothing beats the abundance of recreational water activities. Hawks Cay Resort can be found smack dab in the middle of the Keys and boasts some of the best vacation activities around. They offer everything, from snorkeling and scuba dive trips, to swimming with dolphins and fishing charters. You can also rent boats, jet skis, paddle boards and try your hand at parasailing and kite boarding. Hawks Cay Resort provides many fun options for people of all ages, including children and teens, so there’s something for everyone.

Omni Mount Washington Resort – New Hampshire has some of the best ski destinations in the U.S. and Mount Washington is one of the state’s top locations. Omni Mount Washington Resort is next door to 464 acres of skiing and snowboarding, known as Bretton Woods. The resort has numerous trails and glades, as well as three terrain parks. If you’re looking to visit New Hampshire’s largest ski area, we highly recommend all that the Omni Mount Washington Resort has to offer.
